What A Way To Go: Discussion

Firstly I want to give a big Thank You to everyone that came to watch the film. It was a long and intense 2 hours. I am really happy that everyone stuck it out to the end and was receptive to entertaining the messages the film-makers gave us.

Secondly I would like to invite anyone that has been inspired, shocked, saddened, etc by the film to get in contact or leave a comment at the bottom of this page. I believe that dialogue is beneficial because it meets a need in us for the support and acknowledgment of our situation by our local (and global) community.

And thirdly I would love for more people to see this film. There were a number of people who came to me at the end of the night and asked how they might get hold of a copy of the film for themselves and/or their friends. Please either go the the film-makers’ website www.whatawaytogomovie.com where you can purchase a copy, or alternative contact me personally and I can advise you further…

Last of all, it would be wonderful to hear your feedback. To that end please leave a comment at the bottom of this page: what feelings came up for you watching the film; what changes has it prompted you to make; what do you think will be the consequences for you and/or your family/friends of seeing this film?

A big thank you to everyone who came on Monday night and an especially big thank you for your generosity. We raised £80 in donations, enough to completely cover our expenses AND send money to Tim and Sally (the film makers) to support them in their work. It is both gratifying and encouraging to be able to do this.

I’d also like to thank everyone for their patience with the length of the evening. I am aware that so far both ’1st Monday’ events have gone on very late. I endeavor to rectify this for the next one. Perhaps we need to start a half hour earlier? (The April screening of ‘Living Without Money’ has already been scheduled for a 7.30pm start but we can look into earlier starts after that if desired….let me know your thoughts).

Lastly i was pleased that some people decided to stay at the end to share their feelings, despite the late hour. I found the talking circle very touching. Thank you all for your honesty and openness.

Please do use this site to keep in touch.

    Ocean x
