Something to contemplate – 7 July 2011
“Never form attachments to your beliefs that are unbreakable in the face of a higher, more sensible truth.”In the light of the above, the following extract from the Wingmakers Website offers much to ponder upon. For some it might be a challenging statement.
“ ……Within the last century, contemporary belief systems have rightly placed their focus on love, and more specifically, love that is divine, unconditional and freely shared among all people regardless of their place in the social order. The greatest teachers of humanity have professed this same sentiment, but love remains one of the most misunderstood concepts of humanity.
Love is a fundamental action that, in itself, is not sufficient to bring a species into alignment with the purpose and objectives of First Source or God. While love serves a vital function in coalescing humanity and healing its self-inflicted wounds, it is the knowledge and rightful application of new sciences that will reveal the human soul to the mind of humanity. And it is this revelation that will bring humanity – as a collective species – into conscious alignment with the purpose of First Source……”

What is the
purpose of Spirit of Transition (SofT)
The aim of the SPIRIT OF TRANSITION group is to explore the spiritual dimensions of the Transition Movement and support all who wish to better understand and participate in spiritual activism.
Who are we?
SofT participants are drawn from different faiths and/or belief systems.
Anyone who comes in the spirit of peace and co-operation is welcome. It is our experience that through the sharing of beliefs, experiences and practices, we can uncover areas of mutual intent, insight and discovery wherein we can work effectively together to support the transition process.
Currently there are eight of us who are committed to meeting monthly to delve deep into the ‘Heart and Soul’ of ourselves and the Transition Movement.
We want to encourage more people to join in with this type of exploration and are happy to help others set up a ‘linked’ group, will come along and speak with people about these matters, or to contribute to events of a compatible nature.
Attending to our ‘emotional and energetic footprint’ is as important as attending to our ‘carbon footprint’ in the transition process
The Spirit of Transition Group sees the crisis facing humans at this time as a manifestation of the crisis facing us as individuals, as our inner world being reflected by our outer world
It is our view that inquiry into the tangible issues highlighted by the ‘Transition Initiative’ needs to be complemented by a parallel inquiry into ourselves: our beliefs, our attitudes and behaviour, and our worldviews.
Without this examination of the psycho-spiritual element of unsustainable behaviour, any actions to resolve climate change, peak oil, or indeed the current socio-economic situation, will be addressing symptoms rather than causes. Whereas by gaining insights into the role of consciousness and the deeper interconnections between each of us and all living things we can start to understand and experience what truly sustainable living might comprise.

Why Money is a Spiritual Issue
This commentary hopes to place the topic of monetary reform within a wider context, and seeks to uncover the spiritual and psychological root causes of a cultural status quo that embraces, celebrates even, an economy fuelled by debt and human distress.
