Transition Money

Why Transition Money?

We use money every day (at least most of us do). But how often do we consider the alternatives? Transition Principles ask us to examine all aspects of our modern lives, so should we not look at our relationship with value based monetary systems?

Many of us already use Exchange, Open Sharing and Gifting as ways of meeting our worldy needs and there are websites such as www.justfortheloveofit.org and www.freecycle.org that have provided a network for the giving, receiving and lending of goods, skills and spaces.

Are there any other possibilities?

Below are a series of articles (which will grow over the coming weeks) devoted to examining Society’s relationship with Money:

If We Don’t Fix Money, We Can’t Fix the Planet:
Why Monetary and Banking Reform is a Transition Issue.

This article grew out of ‘The Truth About Money’, a money reform talk supported by a powerpoint presentation and video clips, presented in collaboration with Positive Money Hereford.
If you are a member of (or know of) a group or groups that would be interested in hearing us speak on this topic, please do get in touch.

Book Review:
ISPO/Making It Happen series – Monetary Reform
